Welcome to Snapshots.. i always thought that having a digital diary/journal would be more easier and organized, so i have it all right here to dump my thoughts and feelings.

Maddy knew who she was from a very early age. For as long as Maddy could remember, everybody loved her.

Being young and gay in the streets of Manila is… something. I never really had to come out—my mom made that decision for me before I was even born. She used to joke that she’d abort me if I turned out straight, and while that’s definitely a choice of parenting humor, at least I never had to deal with the whole “coming out” anxiety. But being carefree isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Growing up, school wasn’t exactly kind to someone like me. Too feminine? You’re a target. Too loud? Even worse. I learned quickly that standing out meant standing alone. And then there are the old straight men—the ones who stare too long when I walk past, the ones who make me feel like just existing is an invitation. And let’s not forget the people who assume I’m flirting with them just because I’m nice. Like, relax. I have taste.

But I got lucky. I found friends who made it easier to breathe, people who never made me feel like I had to shrink myself just to fit in. With them, I feel free—loud, unfiltered, me. And I’ve learned to fight back, too. Bullies don’t scare me anymore. If the world wants to stare, let them. I’ll just give them a show.
